Power Station Director/Power Plant General Manager

Quanta Consultancy Services are currently working with a Power/Energy organisation that is looking to recruit an experienced senior consultant (previous Power Station Director/Power Plant General Manager) to contribute towards bringing a new power station on line.

This is a contract position and will suit candidates with experience of running large power plants/facilities at either a director or senior manager level.

Responsibilities:

Working with General Manager of the power plant to manage all site operations; ensuring it is run to optimum capacity; assist in the development of safe systems of work; and manage the compliance of all environmental regulations.
Provide strategic review of bringing the power station on line and to realise the full potential output of the plant as soon as possible.
Recommend performance improvement schemes for the new sites
Responsible for coaching/mentoring senior management at the site

Experience required:

A degree or relevant professional management qualification
Must have a thorough, demonstrated knowledge of power station operations and maintenance as well as management methods necessary to control and improve facility performance.
Membership of a relevant Professional body
Proven experience and track record of working at a senior management level.
Ability to lead a team and communicate across all levels is complemented by knowledge of working within performance management systems.
Ability to manage Health, Safety and Environment implementations
Experience of working with Trade Unions
Strong leadership and communication skills
An engineering background within a Power Station would be an advantage.
