Duration: Initially 6 months with very likely long term extensions

Rates: Excellent hourly

My exclusive client, a global leader in their field urgently requires the services of an additional Contract Power Electronics Engineer to add value to a brand new project.

The Power Electronics Engineer will be required to work on the concept design phase of the evolution of an existing product. The main task will be to improve areas of design to gain extra performance. Key responsibilities could include designing the equipment, component values, resistance, Simulation work using Matlab/Simulink, writing the spec, and completing the prototype etc.

My client is looking for a Power Electronics Engineer ideally with the following skills/experience:

* Experience in Power Electronics Design - Equipment, Component values etc
* Experience in developing control strategies with a particular focus on IGBT's for power converters
* Experience in Power Converters/Conversion - High power electronic components (IGBT's, thyristors and passive components)
* Experience in Power system engineering - Power electronic control algorithms and techniques (eg vector control)
* Matlab/Simulink experience for Simulation
