This opportunity is a great chance to join a fast growing R&D team in a leading global power and transmission organisation based in the west midlands. Any successful Power Electronics Engineers will be joining a large multi-disciplined team of specialist electronics engineers. You'll report directly in to the R&D Director who oversees the team. As an experienced Power Electronics Engineer you'll be required to integrate immediately within the team and hit the ground running.

Candidates should have proven experience of the design and development of power electronic converters and/or their control systems, preferably at high power

The role will involve development of novel power electronic architectures and control algorithms for HVDC, Development of high voltage DC-DC converters, Development of HVDC circuit breakers, Development of DC Grid control and protection philosophies Building a strong patent portfolio in the field of HVDC

Power Electronics Engineer Technical Skills:

High Voltage Power Electronics
DC-DC Converters
Power electronic converters for grid applications such as HVDC and FACTS
High power electronic components
Power system engineering
Power electronic control algorithms and techniques including vector control, modulation techniques
Intellectual Property and the patent process
Simulation tools such as Matlab-Simulink
