POSTGRESQL ADMINISTRATOR/POSTGRESQL DEVELOPER - £450 TO £525 PER DAY - 6 MONTHS + - EXETER, DEVON

We are currently looking for an experience PostgreSQL Administrator/Developer to work an initial 6 month contract for a Government body based in Exeter, Devon.

A database administrator/developer is required to develop a national application using a PostgreSQL database, with an emphasis on quality and excellence. It will encompass all aspects of the development life cycle, including the design, development, testing, tuning, maintenance, and support of database applications. The ideal candidate will have detailed knowledge of PostgreSQL and associated tools, with significant experience in the design and maintenance aspects. They will have excellent communication skills, be team-oriented and flexible.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Drafting and maintaining procedures and documentation for applications support.
- Applying coding standards to ensure that developed products can be supported consistently.
- Design, code, test, correction and documentation of large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied and implicit specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.
- Taking part in reviewing of own work and leading reviews of colleagues' work.
- Working in an Agile/Lean development environment and good understanding of other development methodologies such as JIRA, Git, and SCRUM.
- Active Disclosure Scotland is highly desirable but application can be made if requested for interview.
