Postdoctoral Position in Neuroscience

The Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience at The Rockefeller University, New York, NY, is searching for an outstanding post-doctoral fellow with interest in studying hippocampal neurophysiology as it relates to mood disorders. The primary project will be to elucidate the distinct roles of hippocampal neuron populations in the pathophysiology and treatment of mood disorders using electrophysiological techniques. The research aims to understand how interactions between different subtypes of hippocampal neurons modulate cognition and mood-related behaviors in mice. The laboratory of Dr. Paul Greengard combines multiple experimental approaches, as well as novel behavioral paradigms and unique chemical, biochemical and molecular tools as well as optogenetic techniques. The post-doctoral fellow will play a key role in our effort to understand the molecular and cellular basis for these behaviors. The position is available immediately.
