Postdoctoral Fellowship in Molecular/Genetic Epidemiology of Cancer

The Vanderbilt Training Program in Molecular and Genetic Epidemiology of Cancer (Vanderbilt MAGEC) is now accepting applications for 3-year postdoctoral fellowships. The MAGEC program is seeking candidates with a doctorate-level degree in epidemiology, genetics, or other related science with a strong, demonstrable interest in cancer research. Fellows are matched with two mentors - one in their field and one in a complementary field - after which an individualized didactic training program will be tailored to complement candidate's prior background and launch their independent research career. Training will include core and elective coursework, a multi-disciplinary mentoring team, rotations in the Vanderbilt Molecular Epidemiology Lab and Survey Research Shared Resources, and conduct of a research project, culminating in submission of a grant proposal to the National Institutes of Health.

Applicants must hold a doctorate-level degree and submit 2 letters of recommendation (one from a current supervisor), personal statement, and curriculum vitae by 31 May 2013.
