Postdoctoral Fellows

Open position for a postdoctoral researcher with experience in induced pluripotent stem cells, cardiovascular biology and bioengineering at UC San Diego. A background in sequencing-based genetic association studies is a plus.

We are seeking a first-rate, motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral scientist to join the research group of Prof. Kelly Frazer, in the Division of Genome Information Science at the University of California, San Diego. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the interface between stem cell biology, genomics, epigenomics and the analysis of cardiovascular systems. The current position will involve joining a large multi-disciplinary team focused on generating and analyzing genomic, transcriptomic, and phenotypic data from a large cohort of iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes. The successful applicant will be in a position to make a substantial contribution to our ability to analyze hundreds of iPSC derived cardiomyocyte lines in a high-throughput manner; understanding of how coding and non-coding variants can contribute to cardiac phenotypes; furthering our knowledge of the molecular mechanisms underlying key cardiac characteristics. You will have a high level of commitment to work, be well organized, capable of functioning within a team as well as independently, and have excellent communication skills able to present data. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in stem cell and cardiovascular biology, bioengineering, human genetics, and cell culture.
