Geisinger Health System's Center for Research and Treatment of Autism and Related Developmental Disorders is recruiting post-doctoral fellows for its research program focused on the etiology and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders. Post-doctoral fellows will work with an interdisciplinary team of neurodevelopmental pediatricians, neuroradiologists, developmental psychologists, neuroscientists, and geneticists in a coordinated, translational effort into the identification, classification, intervention, and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders including autism spectrum disorders, and intellectual disabilities/developmental delay. Prospective applicants should possess an advanced degree in neuroimaging, behavioral neuropsychology, clinical psychology, genomics, or a related discipline, and a primary research interest in neurodevelopmental disorders. Previous experience with bioinformatics, statistics, neurogenetics, or structural and functional brain imaging is preferable. Clinical research opportunities and clinical supervision are available. Opportunities for teaching experience are available through Bucknell University.

Pediatric services include a full complement of medical and surgical subspecialists based in Janet Weis Children's Hospital (JWCH), a full-service, 89-bed children's hospital adjacent to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. The Center for Research and Treatment of Autism and Related Developmental Disorders, an integrated, interdisciplinary center for diagnosis, treatment, research and training, is located in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania near Bucknell University and 10 miles from the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.

This training position provides opportunity for growth and development as an independent investigator. The trainee will conduct a specific research project under the supervision of the Staff or Senior Scientist and provide intellectual and technical resources to the research program.

Directly accountable to the Staff/Senior Scientist.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*1. Conducts laboratory experiments related to a specific research project.

*2. Gathers, summarizes, records, and interprets data obtained from research projects.

*3. Plans subsequent work with approval of the principal investigator.

*4. Reviews relevant literature to solve problems and contributes to manuscripts and
grants.

*5. Develops experimental and research protocols for the laboratory.

6. May instruct other members of the lab in area of expertise.

7. May present experimental results at Weis Center for Research or outside scientific venues.

8. May perform other duties as assigned.
