A postdoctoral position is available in the Gerace laboratory at The Scripps Research Institute to study regulation of the trafficking and functions of unspliced HIV mRNA by host cell RNA helicases that interact with HIV Rev [see Mol Cell Proteomics 11:M111.015313]. The person will participate in a collaborative, multi-laboratory and multi-disciplinary program studying Rev/RNA helicase functions. Other projects in the laboratory involve study of nuclear envelope proteins that regulate signaling, and analysis of ER macromolecular assemblies controlling lipid biosynthesis. The candidate must be expert in the use of molecular and cell biology techniques. The person should be an independent thinker who is strongly motivated, and who has obtained a Ph.D. within the last three years.
