Projektbeschreibung
DR. BART HAYNES - PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
DR. TONY MOODY - PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
Projects will include study of the B cell response to HIV envelope proteins in non-human primates and in human vaccinees, study of B cell regulation in humanized mice, study of B cell development in rhesus macaques and humans, and studies of the role of factors that regulate T follicular helper cell generation by immunogens. In addition the regulation of somatic hypermutation and class switching of immunoglobulins will be of prime interest.
DR. SALLIE PERMAR - PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
Projects will include defining the maternal immune responses that are required to protect a developing fetus against acquisition of cytomegalovirus and the resulting neurologic deficits in the infant. The selected candidate will be a team member of our laboratory which is using humoral and cellular immune assays to define the maternal immune responses that are protective against placental cytomegalovirus transmission in both human clinical trials and nonhuman primate models.
DR. MUNIR ALAM - PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
Projects will include the characterization of HIV-1 Envelope antigenicity and the development of immunogens that target antibodies in the maturation pathways of protective antibodies against HIV-1. The selected candidate will be a team member of our laboratory which is using protein interaction analysis (SPR, Biolayer Interferometry, Isothermal titration Calorimetry) and various other biophysical techniques in the characterization of HIV-1 Envelope proteins and broadly neutralizing antibodies against HIV-1.
DR. GEORGIA TOMARAS - PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
Projects will include examining immune responses to HIV-1 and define the mechanisms responsible for improving the quality of immune responses by vaccination. Other projects include the study of antibody development in humans from HIV-1 infection and vaccination toward the development of broadly neutralizing antibodies and the study of human HIV-1 specific IgA antibodies (mucosal & systemic), including regulation and function, in HIV-1 vaccination and infection.
DR. SUNHEE LEE - PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
Projects will include developing practical novel vector-based vaccines for HIV-1 that involves the design, optimization, and evaluation of novel recombinant mycobacteria vectors (rMycobacteria) that elicit durable systemic and mucosal immune responses that are not suppressed by pre-existing anti-vector immunity.
