GEISINGER HEALTH SYSTEM (GHS) IS SEEKING POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWS TO JOIN A TEAM OF NATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED LEADERS IN GENOMICS AND NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO EXPAND CLINICAL, RESEARCH AND TRAINING PROGRAMS IN AUTISM AND OTHER NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS. The Autism and Developmental Medicine Institute will create a national model, implementing guidelines for early diagnosis, medication management and treatment options. The clinical programs will be embedded within an integrated program that includes training in Applied Behavioral Analysis and research in behavior, imaging and genomics, undertaken in collaboration with Bucknell University and other area universities. In addition to a team of neurodevelopmental pediatricians, pediatric neurologists, psychiatrists and clinical psychologists, neuroimaging specialists, researchers, students and ABA specialists, the building will house a state-of-the-art neuroimaging center, as well as a bioinformatics core facility. The Institute has its first location in Lewisburg, Pa.

Prospective applicants should possess an advanced degree in neuroimaging, behavioral neuropsychology, clinical psychology, genomics, or a related discipline, and a primary research interest in neurodevelopmental disorders. Previous experience with bioinformatics, statistics, neurogenetics, or structural and functional brain imaging is preferable. Clinical research opportunities and clinical supervision are available. Opportunities for teaching experience are available through Bucknell University.

The Genomic Medicine Institute, directed by Marc S. Williams, MD, was founded in 2011. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Williams and his team to implement genetically informed care across the system.
