Project Description:
You will join a team of scientists, developing polymer scaffolds for orthopedic applications. This project requires state-of-the-art research of scaffold fabrication, evaluation of scaffold architecture, and the development of analytical tools to correlate scaffold properties with biological performance in-vivo. Our team consists of chemists, material scientists, biologists, biomedical engineers and industrial scientists with expertise in prototype development. The project is part of the laboratory of Professor Joachim Kohn at the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials.

Compensation:
The New Jersey Center for Biomaterials at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey offers salary that is above the guidelines for NIH funded post-doctoral scientists, in addition to the customary health insurance and other fringe benefits offered by the university.

CareerDevelopment:
Exceptional post-doctoral scientists can be promoted to Research Associate or Research Assistant Professor at the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials. These non-tenure track faculty positions provide a good transition to possible tenure-track faculty positions. Non tenure-track research faculty at theNew Jersey Center for Biomaterials will supervise the lab activities of students, are eligible to be principal investigators on grant proposals and may be able to participate in teaching some of the Center's course offerings and outreach activities.
