Post Doctoral Fellow (Postdoc) - Chemical Process R&D

The Post Doctoral Fellow will be part of the Chemical Process Research and Development group and will explore combined protein expression and synthetic approaches to fusion proteins.

Amgen's commercial and clinical pipeline comprises several fusion proteins. Currently these are manufactured using protein expression techniques. The research goal will be the exploration of the chemical synthesis of fusion proteins through a combination of solid-phase peptide synthesis, expressed protein ligation and chemical ligation techniques. Alternative bioconjugation techniques will also be explored. It is expected to expand the internal Amgen expertise in process development for large and small molecules, with a strong scientist in a postdoctoral position.

The individual will work under the direct supervision of an experienced Scientist and will have the opportunity to become part of a cross-functional team (Peptide Chemistry, Biologics, Chemical Process R&D, and Analytical R&D). He or She will be able to rely on the vast intellectual and instrumentation resources of the different departments.

The post-doctorate position is set for a two year term.
