A highly motivated individual with doctoral training in biochemistry and molecular/cell biology is being sought for a two year postdoctoral position at the University of Pittsburgh, McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine. The ultimate goal of the laboratory is to develop techniques and materials that promote the regeneration and constructive remodeling of mammalian tissues and organs. There is a strong emphasis in the laboratory on extracellular matrix and its constitutive molecules as an inductive scaffold that modulates cell and molecular processes in tissue development and tissue response to injury. Studies in the laboratory include investigation of cell signaling mechanisms and cell:matrix interactions that direct cell migration, proliferation and immunomodulation. Individuals with a strong background in the biochemistry and molecular biology of the innate immune system are encouraged to apply. Experience in mammalian cell culture, gel electrophoresis, western blotting, RT-PCR, and protein purification is preferred but not required.
