Post Design Support Engineer/PDS Engineer

Post Design Support Engineer/PDS Engineer required for our leading global aviation company based in Cheltenham. Post Design Engineering is responsible for the maintaining and improving the performance of all systems & products that are classed as in service within the sustainment engineering model.

As a Post Design Engineer, you will have design authority for your systems and products, you will be expected to project manage your own workload, drive and facilitate sessions to improve the systems and product, engage with design specialists in H/W, S/W and systems, create and implement improvement plans. You will take ownership of the system and product throughout its in service life cycle.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

- Managing, reviewing and responding to FRACAS information with suppliers, customers and manufacturing facilities
- Working on customer improvement projects
- Dealing with customer queries
- Gaining customer approvals
- Maintaining technical documentation related to the system and product
- Managing and resolving obsolescence issues
- Managing and reviewing maintainability and reliability data
- Implementing design improvements
- Implementing cost reduction activities
- Change Management

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

- Qualification to degree level or above in an electronic or hardware discipline or qualified through apprenticeship or relevant experience
- Experience in working in a similar environment is required
