POST DEAL EXPENSE ANALYST - WORLD LEADING GLOBAL ENERGY TRADING COMPANY

World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for a Post Deal Expense Analyst to join their Global Post Deal Expense and Port Agency Services team in London.

The post deal expense claims department provides professional post deal expense services to the various business desks within the Company's Trading division - eg. Crude Supply & Trading, Products (Middle Distillates, Chem Feed, Mogas, Fuel Oil, Baseoils) and LPG.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Allocate recoverable costs agreed under all Freight agreements entered into the Global freight books
- Prepare post deal expense claims for all contractual and/or charter party arrangements
- Record claims activity to facilitate transparency to business.
- Maximise recoveries to the company and for the Global Trading Network
- Advise trading staff of issues relating to post deal expenses and keep them fully appraised of claims in progress
- Negotiate final settlement of claims
- Chase counter-parties in respect of overdue monies from agreed post deal expenses
- The challenge is to be pro-active in noting avoidable losses and be innovative with regard to work process

ABOUT YOU:

- Knowledge of the administration of both charter parties and oil contracts.
- Analytical skills
- Good computer literacy, including manipulation of data in MS Excel
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work methodically under pressure with the minimum of supervision
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

- Experience in Shipping and oil trading operations or administration.
- Ability to work closely within a team.
- Understanding of maritime and oil industry practices
- Knowledge of English Maritime and Commercial Law
- Good negotiating skills

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
