Role: Policy/Social Research Analyst
Location: Central London
Type: Contract
Duration: 3 months
Rate: £300 - £345 per day

Our Central London-based client is looking for an experienced Policy Research Analyst to ensure evaluations deliver robust evidence which add value to the existing knowledge base, inform decision making and provide the requisite level of accountability that our client's investments deliver value for money.

You will support the strategy project team to:
-Undertaking data collation, data base management, analysis and synthesis, and in some cases information gathering with the organisation's policy teams, to help identify evaluation priorities.
-You will communicate their findings back to the project team;
-A supporting role in the procurement and day-to-day contract management of external evaluation experts to deliver a series of time limited projects.
-This may involve providing quality assurance of deliverables (including data collection tools) and undertaking scoping and planning activities;
-Contribute to activities to analyse the costs and benefits of delivering the evaluation strategy;
-Helping to finalise key evaluation documents including undertaking amendments to drafting in response to stakeholder feedback, quality assurance, formatting and proof reading draft and final documents.

Qualifications required
Minimum 2:1 first degree in a social science related discipline

Experience required
Experience in database management and analysis;
Qualitative research;
Teamworking -able work in a multi-disciplinary team to help deliver this high profile cross-cutting project

Essential Skills/Knowledge:
Critical analysis and decision-making: In particular the ability to accurately analyse and synthesis evidence from a range of sources and to make sound, evidence-based recommendations.

Professional expertise: The post requires the sound application of quantitative and qualitative social research techniques and awareness of the relative strengths and weaknesses of different methods. The post holder should be highly capable in developing, managing, interrogating and analysing data bases and interpreting messages from the analysis.

Policy and delivery focus: Good interpersonal and team-working skills are required as well as an ability to understand and direct efforts to meet customer needs. The post holder will be required to proactively work in partnership with policy colleagues, specialists from other analytical disciplines and external stakeholders to provide a reliable and high quality contribution.
