Policy & Research Officer

Our Public Sector Client requires a Policy & Research Officer for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract based in Birmingham.

Reporting to the Head of Policy and work as a member of a team

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop policies and strategies on issues which are consistent with the strategic objectives of the Client providing advice and guidance within the organisation as appropriate.
* Coordinate delivery of our research programme, which including managing our customer satisfaction, stakeholder and awareness surveys and ensuring that these are robust ways of reporting against our agreed KPIs.
* Research trends in the external environment that impact on service delivery, current and future, for the Client.
* Operate effectively within a range of agendas from different governmental and associated organisations in order to build the reputation of the Client, develop relationships with key stakeholders and influence and operate in ways that further the objectives of the Client.
* Make recommendations for service change on any analysis including impact, budget, resources and training.
* Ensure that policy related actions and activities are consistent with strategic objectives of the Client
* Draft policy briefings for the Chief, Management Team and Team to raise their awareness and maximise the impact of the organisation's external activities.
* Liaise with the communications team to develop appropriate publications material including strategy, business plan and externally facing newsletters.
* Support Policy and Communications by writing, and responding to, consultation documents and undertaking research initiatives as required by the Client
