Policy Officer

We are a global charitable foundation dedicated to achieving extraordinary improvements in health by supporting the brightest minds. We have a vacancy within our Strategic Planning and Policy Unit for a two-year fixed-term contract position. This Unit leads on strategic planning and provides analysis, research and advice on policy and evaluation issues to help ensure that the Wellcome Trust can achieve its mission in the most effective way. You will undertake research and analysis to provide high-quality briefing papers and policy documents, focusing on biomedical ethics, research governance and data access policy. You will also provide the secretariat for the newly established Expert Advisory Group on Data Access (EAGDA). Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, you will be able to demonstrate: a background in biomedical ethics experience of working in a policy or other related environment knowledge and understanding of issues facing biomedical researchers excellent analytical and report-writing skills. You will be an enthusiastic team player with strong communication and organisational skills, and have a track record of working proactively.
