PMO Technical Writer

My client a leading provider of defence and security products and services in Australia is looking for a Technical Writer to join their team on an initial 2 month contract with possibility of extension. The successful candidate's role will be to work the bid phase of a particular project (related to services and support activities on Protected Vehicles which are developed for the Australian army and other defence forces worldwide).

Responsibilities of the role include:

- Controlling the development and implementation of the technical documents through the receipt and review of disparate input documents;
- Formatting of the technical data and copy within existing templates and writing style and change management controls;
- Producing documents to a high standard appropriate for important third-party customer presentation.

To be considered for this role you must have:

- Intermediate to expert knowledge of MS Word for Windows (including advanced template concepts, formatting and change management;
- Understanding of the Defence environment, especially, an understanding of the Army Support Service environment
- 1-3 years technical writing experience, preferably in the Services disciplines;
- Ability to project manage technical documentation life-cycles within a fast-paced, changing environment required;
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure content consistency a must
- Aptitude for interpreting technical information.
- Ability to manage a range of tech writing activities and documentation deliverables
- Schedule orientation and attention to strict deadlines essential;
- Ability to create and edit macros within MS Word for Windows desirable.
- Defence experience
