One of the UK's leading pay/TV providers is looking for a PMC Engineer to join their team.

Role:

The PMC Engineer will ensure that a high quality, 24/7 proactive maintenance and reactive first line engineering support service is provided for our Broadcast Production Systems. As a key part of the Broadcast Engineering department, this role is at the cutting edge of the convergence between traditional broadcast and IT technologies.

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

. Responsible for 24/7 first line Engineering support, incident management and technical engagement with internal Engineering groups and vendors on our Broadcast Production Systems

. Monitor systems and services across the Production estate to ensure we meet our customers high expectations and our service availability targets

. Provide excellent customer service for the department through effective communication and pro/active engagement with our many Customers and Stakeholders

. Capture accurate, detailed information to all for good technical reporting of incidents and system performance

. Learn Business Continuity plans and be able to work with other teams to implement Business Continuity when required for relevant content effecting incidents

. Assist our Skills Studio with technical support when required

. Primarily fixed shift pattern

Desirable Skills/Experience:

. Working on MAM (media asset management) infrastructure and OTT and VOD workflow

. Maintaining coordination and communication with other Broadcast Services Engineers to ensure service levels are met and that operating procedures and high technical standards are applied

. To work closely with change owners to ensure changes are implemented correctly without service affecting incident and are documented to supportable standards

. Good understanding of the technical elements of broadcast production systems and associated platforms and interfaces

. Has worked in Baseband and Video File based environment with sound knowledge video Standards including SDI, HD/SDI and Mpeg with working knowledge of Video Server technology and transcoding

. Broadcast IT experience in applications support

. Video Ingest and Encoding technologies, Networking, Servers and Storage technologies
