Plumbing Technician

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains and repairs general plumbing components; toilets, urinals, faucets, eyewash, safety showers and drains.
2. Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold water lines as required.
3. Repairs and replaces hot water heater for building systems
4. Installs, tests, and repairs backflow prevention devices.
5. Leads troubleshooting efforts and repairs steam, water, and gas distribution systems.
6. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
7. Provides sketches and dimensions used by planning to create plans for work order.
8. Researches catalogs and vendor services for complex and/or customized system retrofits.
9. Interprets and applies mechanical and structural blueprints to plan plumbing repairs and modifications.
10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

SKILLS:

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have Manufacturing & Industrial Experience
- At least 7 years of trades experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Journeyman Plumber's License, a second related Master License, or equivalent military experience.
- Experience in a cGMP environment is preferred.
- Plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair skills.
- Knowledge of steam, water, and gas distribution systems maintenance and repair.
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
- Ability to work in the planned and scheduled maintenance programs.
- Ability to lead others in troubleshooting and emergency repairs.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to safely scope and perform planned preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and reactionary repairs on plumbing systems and fire sprinkler systems.
- Candidate must have safety shoes before starting assignment.
