Planning Officer (Minerals and Waste)

PLANNING OFFICER (MINERALS AND WASTE), OXFORD, 6 MONTHS, £12.80 TO 15.80 PER HOUR LTD

Our public sector client is looking to recruit a temporary Planning Officer to assess, ensure and promote compliance with planning control across the county in order to protect the public and the environment from harm which may arise from unauthorised mineral and waste development.

AS PLANNING OFFICER, YOU WILL:

- Inspect and monitor permitted mineral and waste development sites
- Investigate complaints and reports of unauthorised mineral and waste development.
- Negotiate resolutions to issues of non-compliance or unauthorised development. 
- Undertake enforcement visits to sites where unauthorised development is taking place
- Collect and prepare evidence for enforcement action in respect of breaches of planning control
- Process minerals and waste planning applications (in line with development plan policy) which arise from non-compliance with planning controls. 
- Write reports and correspond with members, officers and the general public

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

- Planning or related degree or equivalent
- RTPI membership or equivalent
- Experience of working in a planning department in a local authority
- Sound working knowledge and understanding of planning and enforcement legislation
- Current Driving Licence and have use of own vehicle for work purposes
