Planning/Delivery Support - Characterisation Specialists x2

Our client is 2 x Technical Delivery Team Charachterisation Specialist for a contract role based in Cumbria. This role is working 37 hours per week Mon-Fri for 12 months.
To support planning and delivery of characterisation projects from the Sellafield site characterisation programme. To assist in preparing characterisation reports. Need to have or develop a good technical understanding of characterisation, with specific knowledge of key elements of the characterisation process. Will be responsible for elements of process specification, for direct delivery support, and for review and interpretation of characterisation data. Manage assessment of data for waste routing/characterisation, including radioactive and non radioactive determinants. Provide technical advice and support to projects on characterisation, clearance and waste routing. The production and assessment of various documentation and data to support characterisation and clearance projects.

Deliverables
* Knowledge and experience of analytical and radioanalytical techniques.
* Knowledge and experience of sampling and non-destructive measurement.
* Knowledge of data validation processes and of data handling and storage
* Experience of the application of Data Quality Objectives.
* Knowledge and experience of statistical approaches to sampling and data assessment.
* Experience of working on sampling and characterisation programmes would be of benefit. More important are skills such as being a good team player, able to understand and interpret complex data, and good communication skills.

Key Skills
* Qualified to degree level in a relevant scientific/technical subject or with HNC in a relevant scientific/technical subject and significant experience in a technical area.
