PL/SQL DEVELOPER (BANKING)
On behalf of our client, a leading bank in Zürich, we are looking for a PL/SQL DEVELOPER WITH BANKING EXPERIENCE. For this contract position based in Zurich in Switzerland our client is looking for an English speaking candidate who can start as soon as possible. Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity with a market leading global company then please have a look at the details:
ROLE:
- The successful candidate would work in the department who owns applications and software components that are used by front facing employees (eg, relationship managers, investment consultants) in the context of the advisory process as well as portfolio construction, analysis and monitoring. Additionally, these capabilities are being increasingly exposed also to end-clients. This role will support the delivery teams and take ownership of the DB area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsibility for defining, documenting and maintaining the logical as well as the physical data model
- Analysing Database productions issues as well as performance bottlenecks
- Create and implement Database designs and artifacts (incl. tables, views, scripts, stored procedures, etc)
- Ensure consistency on how data is used and stored
- Execute and support the production deployments
- Support and consult the delivery teams when needed (especially in relation to performance-related optimizations)
SKILLS:
- Over 5 years of experience in PL/SQL and SQL development
- EXCELLENT KNOWLEDGE OF DATABASES (ORACLE IS A STRONG PLUS)
- VERY GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF PERFORMANCE TUNING AND OPTIMIZATION OF DATABASE SYSTEMS (ORACLE IS A STRONG PLUS)
- GOOD DATAMODELLING SKILLS
- Excellent abstract and analytical thinking plus problem solving skills
- A self-starter, being able to take ownership of tasks on short-notice and work under pressure
- Excellent team player
- Fluency in English (spoken and written), German is a plus
- Be a dynamic, result/goal oriented individual who can handle an exciting environment and react quickly to changing client needs
- Banking know-how: financial Instruments, portfolio theory, portfolio management processes, advisory process and regulations (eg, MiFiD II)
- Java know-how (JDBC and JPA) is clearly a plus
- Proven experience on large projects and on large scale, performance sensitive software systems
