PKI Subject Matter Expert

Main Duties/Responsibilities
A post has arisen for a PKI Subject Matter Expert to join central government Network Technical Authority (NTA) Cyber Team with a focus on the technical aspects of the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). As part of this role you will be responsible for providing Cyber Trust Services technical advice, guidance and assurance. The primary function for this post is to provide advice and direction on the use, and integration with, the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and the trust services it provides. This will involve engaging with internal organisations wanting to join the PKI and external entities wanting to interoperate with it.

Skills/Experience Required
To be considered for this position, you should have Knowledge and experience of the PKI, its Certificate Policy and Governance.

Highly Desirable:
Experience in writing or facilitating the development of Certificate Policies, Certification Practice Statements (CPS) using the IETF RFC3647 format; Understanding and experience of the construction of X.509 v3 certificate fields and extensions, IETF RFC 5280 and the protocols and standards covered by the IETF PKIX; Understanding of the non-technical elements of PKI; Registration Authorities (RA) including the robust identification and verification of entities; and the controls required to demonstrate policy compliant and accredited operational services.

Desirable:
Understanding and experience of; applications and services that Enable PKI, wider Identity and Access Management technologies and solutions, PKI products such as CA software, Hardware Security modules( HSM's) and smart cards

Due to the nature of this department, having a current Security clearance will be highly advantageous
