Piping Inspector

PIPE INSPECTOR
3 MONTHS | £22 PER HOUR |DUNFERMLINE

IntaPeople are working with a market leading company who require experienced pipe inspectors for a 3 month contract in Dunfermline.

As a Pipe Inspector it will be your job to coordinate Quality Control inspections/audits during the fabrication, responsible for construction and assembly of ships structural units as well as carrying out the inspections/audits yourself. You will play an important part to ensure the standards required to during ship fabrication/construction is being achieved.

You will be required to enter non-conformances identified during inspections in to the Non-conformance management system as well as produce and distribute non-conformance reports to relevant stakeholders.

Other responsibilities include:
Maintenance of records for quality/build assurance purposes.
Ensure non-conformances are cleared and closed out.
Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and to provide a focal point for all QC
enquiries and ensure the inspection programme is achieved.
Co-ordinate structural survey/inspection packages and ensuring Lloyds Surveyors are adequately supported.
Identify trends and provide problem resolutions, either through process or system modifications.

Main tasks:
Populate inspection database.
Generate inspection packs.
Plan/Co-ordinate QC/LRS inspections.
Monitor the construction/assembly process to ensure compliance.
Conduct QC inspections.
Populate NCMS database.
Populate CMS database.
Maintain QC records.
Attend wash-up meetings as required.
Generate and distribute QC reports.
Close down QC non-conformances.
Compile QA/QC records/registers for contract acceptance.

The ideal candidate would have a trade based apprenticeship with a ship constructive background, good working knowledge of ship-building practices and standard, ability to read and interpret ate ship construction drawings & specifications, good communication skills with the ability to collate and present information at appropriate levels and must be proactive but with the ability to react quickly when necessary to meet challenging objectives.
