Piping Engineer - Germany

My client is looking for an English and German speaking Piping designer to work in the Cologne area of Germany.

The position is working within the Chemical industry so experience in this area is an advantage, experience in other areas will be considered but it must be high pressure piping experience.

The envisaged position entails the following activities:

- Communication interface with the site engineering personnel in the technical site offices (TSO)
- Technical execution (design work) of smaller site based projects, if too small to be sent to India for design
- Develop technical input to proposal preparation for smaller and larger projects/ work packages
- Preparation of work packages for transfer to India and technical interface for India design team
- Executing and expediting the reviews and acceptance of design work by the site personnel

The requirements for this position are:
- 10 years of experience in industrial projects - piping /structural
- Piping - CAD capability is a plus
- Familiarity with the work process in the engineering field in the German chemical industry.
- Familiarity with German norms and regulations is expected
- Fluent in German and English - speaking and writing - is a must
- Soft skills in order to be able to bridge the cultural challenges
