Piping Designer

I currently have a requirement for a Piping Designer to join a leading drilling contractor in their Aberdeenoffice on a 12 month contract which is likely to extend. Your main duty will be to develop work scopes, produce study layouts, Fabrication Isometrics, Pipe Support drawings, P&ID's and General Arrangement drawings. Projects will include (but not be limited to) modifications to LP and HP mud systems, cement and kill systems, hydraulic systems, plant and utility air, and other drilling utility systems. Roles and responsibilities: - Responsible for the safe, cost effective and timely execution of piping engineering design activities on "Brownfield" rig re-activation - Producing layouts - Fabrication isometrics - P&IDs, Pipe support drawings - General assembly drawings - Liaise with package engineers/buyers - Be available for ad-hoc visits offshore to determine/prove work scopes - Assist with dimensional surveys and produce survey reports - Provide support for final testing & commissioning of systems to ensure the successful handover of the Project to client/Drilling Operations Requirements: - HNC/D in relevant discipline - Minimum 5 years industry experience - Working knowledge of associated drilling equipment including valves, compressor system, centrifugal pumps - Familiar with pipe specifications and industry codes / standards - Design of piping systems - Working to standards - API, ASME, Norsok, DNV, PED - AutoCAD (advantageous - Inventor / PDMS) - BOSIET, Offshore Medical and MIST Competencies: - Excellent man management skills - Competent in plant layout and piping topology - Understanding of stress analysis and pipe supporting - Customer (internal and external) management skills This role will require some offshore visits therefore you must be willing to work offshore and complete relevant certifications.
