Piping Designer

Leading engineering and technology firm has an immediate need for multiple Piping Designers for a long term contract assignment (12+ months) in the Knoxville, TN area. Chosen candidates will be responsible for providing Piping Design leadership to support project scope development, estimating, detailed design, drafting, checking, and project execution. Per diem and expenses paid may be available to non-local candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop Project-specific piping specifications
- Lead piping designers in-house and ensure quality design, cost compliance, and schedule activities are met by design group
- Estimate projects, track progress, and board/field check deliverables
- Coordination of piping documents and design issues with project management and other design disciplines
- Assist projects in obtaining Technical Standards Deviation Approval
- Identify, evaluate, and promote cost-savings opportunities regarding piping design and construction opportunities
- Answer requests-for-information (RFI) from fabrication shops during pipe fabrication

REQUIREMENTS

- Associates technical degree desired
- 8-15 years of experience in piping design
- Experience in the use of Microstation CAD Software
- 3 years or greater experience in 3D design
- Familiar in Piping Codes (ASME, API, and other applicable codes)
- Experience and detailed knowledge of pipe design, fabrication, and installation of small to medium capital projects
