Piping Designer

IMMEDIATE NEED!!!.......Engineering client is looking for a Sr. Piping Designer with a broad skill set for a long term contract assignment. You need 10-25+ years of piping design experience supporting power plant & other heavy industrial plant projects (process, chemical, cement, pulp & paper, etc..). The perfect candidate has experience with large, industrial boiler design projects. Our client prefers candidates that are local to the Atlanta Metro area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design piping associated with power plant or steam plant (cogen plants, pulp& paper, etc...) engineering & construction projects
- You will review multi-discipline drawings (mechanical, structural, civil, electrical, etc.) and identifying conflicts between mechanical design and the other discipline design
- Checked final drawings and isometrics for design compliance with respective client specifications and industry codes
- Compare piping drawings to P&ID's and line list to verify line size, specification, labeling, valve specification and location, instrumentation connection type and location
- Layout & design of piping systems, including pipe supports and interpretation of piping stress analysis reports for incorporation into piping design
- Check piping drawings for interferences and proper clearance versus Civil, Structural, GA's (general arrangement) and vendor drawings
- Check hanger drawings for location, type, and spacing of pipe supports

REQUIREMENTS

- 10-25+ years of experience as a Piping Designer supporting power plant EPC projects
- You need to be proficient with the latest version of AutoCAD software
- You need a working knowledge of ASME Codes, preferably section B31.1
- Piping design dwgs: Plot Plan, piping arrangements, isometrics, BOM's, etc
- 3D Modeling experience (Preferably AutoCAD Software)
- Experience with piping plans, isometric generation, tie-in drawings, etc
- P&ID designing, reviewing and checking
- Experience with pipe support and hanger design experience would be helpful
- Any experience with mechanical ductwork or material handling would be a PLUS
