Physical Data Center Engineer (f/m)

Starting date: 1st of June 2016
Length of the contract: 2 years with possibility of extension

Task description:
*Plan, prepare, test and implement the IT cabling, racks and technical building infrastructure into existing data centres
*Plan, organise and coordinate the physical rollout / installation of new IT computing infrastructure, monitor the infrastructure: power sockets, cabinets temperature, humidity
*Contribute to operational acceptance tests according to predefined operational requirements to ensure appropriate hand-over services to the production environment
*Contribute to projects development and implementation phase in relation to IT infrastructure
*Participate in recovery and contingency exercises and ensure that IT Operations and Support staff can recover systems in accordance with the predefined plans and documentation
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation related to the IT infrastructure

Your profile:
*Engineering and design experience
*Experience with IT cabling infrastructure: IT cabling standards, fiber cabling technology, RJ 45 copper technology, cable testing and verification
*Excellent knowledge of technical building infrastructure for data centers: power distribution, HVACS systems, raised floor construction, fire extinguishing and prevention, water detection, building management, cable and satellite communications, as well as of security systems
*Proven experience to build, operate and modify IT cabling and related building infrastructure, preferably in a mission-critical data center environment
*Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools, Trellis Inventory Manager and Project Planner DCIM tool, experience with CAD programs (ex. AutoCAD and/or Autosketch) would be an asset
*Experience in LAN/WAN/SAN voice/data communications, server and storage systems would be an asset
*Work in a shift system possible
*On-call duties possible
*Excellent command of oral and written English and German
