PHP Developer - MYSQL, AWS, MVC, Restful APIs

PHP Developer - MySQL, AWS, MVC, Restful APIs - required to join a growing start up in London which provides Project Management and Analytics start up for the music industry. This Senior PHP Development role requires candidates with demonstrable knowledge of high end, high performance web application development and server administration as well as clear passion and drive to deliver.

You will need

Exceptional PHP development skills with an excellent understanding of object-oriented code
Experience of developing modular applications and working with MVC frameworks
Experience in configuring, maintaining and optimising Linux and Apache server environments
Excellent understanding of relational SQL database architectures, and working with big data'
Experience of deploying and optimising scalable applications using AWS and Google Cloud services
Experience of consuming external data services (eg RESTful services)
Experience of working with source control systems such as Subversion and Git

Desirable skills

Experience of writing in languages other than PHP (such as Python, Ruby, C)
Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JS and other Front End development skills
Solid knowledge of third party tools and libraries such as jQuery, Require.js, Node.js
Solid understanding of responsive design techniques and multi-platform deployment

You will be responsible for

To develop new application features and services, either within the framework or as standalone scripts
Write and enhance Unit Testing across the platform to ensure platform stability
Take ownership of the issue backlog to help organise and resolve issues quickly
Optimise platform performance by revising caching strategies and framework setup
Utilise external APIs to build and maintain external data collection and processing workflows
Write and refactor application controller logic according to DRY and TDD principles
Create application documentation and help to form an in-house code style guide
Provide time and resource estimates to assist in the planning of the development roadmap
Keep abreast of and learn new technologies and be capable of implementing these as applicable in order to enhance the application and service infrastructure
