PHP Developer

An opportunity exists for 2 PHP developer at my Client's Offices in Central London

The position is based in the Digital Development department.

Job Description

As a member of the team, you will be reporting into the PHP lead developer and working with the software architect on a number of high profile SOA based open source LAMP projects that are strategically important to the company.

This will include
-Designing and developing core services as part of the RESTful service API in line with company coding standards;
-Writing unit tests to support each developed service
-Commiting developed code to a local Git repository, pushing to a Jenkins based continuous integration managed platform;
-Testing code on both a local development VMs and a remote integration distributed platform;
-Managing work within sprints using Trello
-Some travel to work with outsource partners may be required.

Strong skill in backend server coding on MVC frameworks such as Zend or Symfony2 is essential. Candidates are expected to be able to show an understanding of SOA and RESTful services.

A disciplined approach to work taking ownership from initial analysis through implementation to a fully tested delivery is required.

Additional competence in the following technologies would be an advantage but not essential
-Frontend javascript frameworks
-SOLR (3) search
-Gearman

Start Date - ASAP
Rate - 375 - 400 per day
Location - Central London
