Photonics Test Engineer- Belgium.
We are urgently looking for a freelance Photonics Test Engineer for an assignment with our client in Belgium.
Your main goal will be to verify the optical functionality of optical sensing devices, working with different types of optical setups including Laser based measurement systems, microscopy systems and fiber-based systems.
Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Characterize optical subcomponents and systems involving photonic chips and/or discrete optical elements
- Adapt optical test stands when needed. This can include design of mechanical fixtures, selection of correct illumination sources, and replacement of cameras or other sensing hardware.
- Prepare reports summarizing data and work with application scientists to analyze the results.
Your profile & skills
- Experience in hands-on optical and/or electrical characterization
- You have some programming skills. Understanding Labview is a plus
- Ability to use datasheets and manuals to modify laboratory setups to fit custom measurement needs
The freelance assignment is based near Brussels, is expected to last 3-6 months, with a starting date at the beginning of July. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in Belgium.
