Pharmacy Technician - Fixed Term/Part Time

Job Description

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be a key member of the Pharmacy Team and will assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service which consistently meet the needs of all service users at our hospital.

This is a part time role, working 15 hours per week between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.00 pm. This contract is fixed term for six months initially.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional support to the pharmacy team in order to ensure the smooth running of the department
* Appropriately dispense all patient medication in a professional manner, providing counselling to patients when appropriate
* Ensure that all records are accurate and audit trail details are maintained
* Take responsibility for the correct handling, safe storage, dispensing and ordering of all pharmaceutical products
* Provide basic end-user support for the Pharmacy module of the Meditech system and support the role of the Database Co-ordinator

* Assist in the development and improvement of pharmacy standards and monitoring effectiveness through internal audit.
* Liaise effectively with all relevant departments in order to facilitate the payment of all invoices and charges
* Help support the technicians at our other site if required.
* Participate in audit activities within the department and the rest of the Clinic

Skills & Experience

* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* BTEC qualification or equivalent
* Additional specialist training or knowledge as appropriate
* Previous experience of working in a similar role
* Strong numeric skills
* Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills
* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
