Dispenser Technician

Location: Midlands

Salary: NVQ 3 - 20,000

Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Type: 6 month contract

We are looking for an NVQ 3 dispenser / technician to join our growing Healthcare company based in the midlands. The role is working in an Industry based setting alongside a team of other NVQ 2's, NVQ 3's, Dispensers and Pharmacists. This position will expose you to various different areas in Pharmacy such as Oncology, Aseptics, Dispensary and more

Responsibilities include:

* To dispense prescriptions efficiently, accurately and in accordance with all legal ethical and Company requirements, including the Medicines Act, "Medicines, Ethics and Practice Guide" published by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and Company Standard Operating Procedures.
* To endorse prescriptions accurately.
* To label efficiently and accurately, highlighting any warnings generated by the PMR system to the Pharmacist.
* To place stock orders with suppliers accurately.
* To check the accuracy of stock and other deliveries and put the stock to shelf in accordance with Company procedures.
* To book stock into the stock control system accurately.
* To carry out regular stock checks including verification and investigation of any discrepancies.
* To rotate stock, check dates and ensure that stock-nearing expiry is removed from use and disposed of in accordance with Company procedures.
* Provide advice in accordance with protocols and pharmacist guidance.
* To perform duties in compliance with specific service contracts.
* To participate in rota for working on Bank Holidays as and when necessary.
* To ensure that safe systems of work are practiced with due regard to Health and Safety, COSHH Regulations, Guide to Good Distribution Practice and National Pharmaceutical Standards.
* To carry out any other reasonable duties defined by the Pharmacy Manager within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the job.

Experience:

* Working as a dispenser in a hospital, community, prison or industry pharmacy.
* Must have a qualification (e.g. NVQ 3) recognised by the GPhC
