PET is one of the UK's biggest educational training providers, working with schools around the UK and achieving significant and life-changing results for the young people we work with. Our digital team produces engaging online and interactive learning solutions, and we are currently looking for a Graduate Web/Multimedia Developer to become part of the expanding digital team focusing on bringing learning software to market. We are based in Coventry, West Midlands. This role is a tour around everything which goes on as part of shipping digital products across Web and other platforms. The primary focus is to support all other members of the team and be productive in your own right, by: Building interactive web applications using ASP.NET MVC Furthering the development of our web-based learning platform, The Arena () and other projects Enhancing HTML UIs using CSS/Javascript/jQuery Developing and unit testing application business logic using C#/.Net Contributing to team design and planning sessions Testing web UIs for example for cross-browser compliance Programming back-end databases/SQL Building rich-client user interfaces Opportunity for involvement in iOS App development via iPhone / iPad apps Assist with the production of online and print-based design assets Assist with IT and the use of technology around the company You will have demonstrable, first-hand experience of the following skills: Client-side web technologies such as HTML, CSS and Javascript Programming skills in one or more languages such as C# or Java Other skills/technologies we use which it would help to have experience of: ASP.NET MVC (preferred) but other web server technology such as PHP/JSP/etc.. NET and C#XmlSQL ServerRich-client development via Flash/Flex or Silverlight Website deployment and configuration General interest in technology As a motivated and driven individual you will want to broaden your experience of design, development and working with technology, and will be jump at the chance to prove yourself as an individual as well as contributing to the overall team effort in the area of education, where every decision impacts the learning process. You'll respond well to working in a small team and will have the drive to see a project through to completion within deadline by creative thinking and problem-solving skills, and by challenging yourself at each opportunity. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic recent graduate with a pleasant manner and good communication skills to make an impact in this role by learning quickly, helping the team and contributing as an individual. It will require you to embrace new technical and personal challenges to make the role your own and to play your part in the company's success. You will be a graduate with a Computer Science/Multimedia or other relevant degree with academic/extra-curricular experience of programming and building websites and an interest in getting involved with all kinds of software and technologies.
