Permanent Assistant Ship Superintendent -, Essex. Circa 55K I am currently working with a leading renewables company in the recruitment of an Assistant Ship Superintendent to join their team on a permanent basis within their Chelmsford office. This position is very much a development role. You will work under the close supervision of the ships superintendent. You will be expected to quickly gain the knowledge and experience required in order to provide direct support to the vessels on matters such as maintenance, technical issues and budget development/control. This role will involve some international travel in order to supervise both planned and unplanned maintenance periods of the vessel. Although you will be working closely with the ships superintendent, you will be supervising the supply of spare parts as well as stores and services - you will ensure that any spare parts required fall in line with the budget that you have been assigned. Day to day responsibilities include: - Assist in the preparation of dry docking/refits - Arrange surveys for classification inspections and requirements - Liaise with crewing managers on matters involving engineering staff - Involvement in appraisals and personal development of engineering staff - Carry out risk assessments as well as reports on any indecent investigations.
