Performance Test Engineer

OUR CLIENT, A LEADING INVESTMENT BANK IS SEEKING A PERFORMANCE TEST ENGINEER TO JOIN THEIR TEAM ON AN INITIAL 6 MONTH ENGAGEMENT.
ROLE/OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an individual to join our recently formed application performance and systems characterization test group within the Enterprise Testing Services practice. This group is charged with providing performance testing services on an as needed basis to other groups within FTG Enterprise Solutions as well as to other business units. This is an exciting opportunity as the group is just forming and the demand for performance testing is high.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participation in the development and execution of performance test strategies, plans and cases.
- Work with software developers and architects to troubleshoot performance issues and identify/resolve root cause.
- Author test reports to assess the performance health of the systems under test.
- Help in defining, implementing, and monitoring the processes and procedures that need to be put in place to resolve and avoid future performance issues.
- Work collaboratively with other testers, both local and remote.
- Maintain status of projects, initiates discussions with stakeholders or external groups to resolve issues, works directly with the user community for project definition
SKILLS/EXPERTISE
- 3 - 5 years' experience in systems characterization and in-depth performance testing experience.
- Prior experience with HP/Mercury LoadRunner and/or Radview Webload.
- Proven customer and relationship management experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working on projects using an Agile methodology would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of web technologies, Client Server, .NET and database systems.
- Experience Scripting web applications.
- Knowledge of UNIX, Linux, AIX and MS Windows Operating systems.
- Web Service, Application Server and Database Server tuning expertise - Tomcat, WebSphere, and Oracle.
- Prior experience evaluating HEAP/Memory issues and environment capacity problems.
