PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT CODER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in SAN FRANCISCO, CA.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Certified Professional Coder
- Experience with HCC

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Will perform encounter reconciliation for Medicare Advantage health plan member
- Assist in the development and maintenance of tools, policies and procedures
- Perform auditing functions; monitor coding of diagnosis submitted on encounter data to ensure accurate assignment of principal, secondary and tertiary diagnoses codes and procedures
- Identify patterns of inaccuracies and provides recommendations for resolution
- Review medical records to validate that the appropriate codes were captured and documented in medical records
- Ensures all codes are documented for the assignment of a valid and accurate HCC for each episode of care

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Certified Professional Coder (CCS or CPC through AHIMA/AAPC)
- Minimum two (2) years coding experience in HCC related activities and general auditing experience
- Ability to identify elements of a medical record's structure and content; code abstracting and the ability to convert hand written medical charts
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT classifications and coding of diagnoses and procedures
- Strong computer experience in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
