The Company:
Robert Half Management Resources is partnering with a forward thinking not-for-profit organisation in Bristol to appoint an Interim Performance & Improvement Manager, for a period of 6 months.

The Role:
The Interim Performance & Improvement Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the organisations performance management strategy and manage key contract requirements under the direction of the Head of Performance. This post will make a significant contribution to the Managing our Money theme of the BCH strategy and contribute to and facilitate the delivery of other strategic themes. This post will take a lead role in supporting the Operational Directorate to monitor performance, evaluate service innovations and recommend improvements to service provision.

Responsibilities:
A range of tasks and duties commensurate with the size and seniority of the role and in order to deliver the Managing our Money strategic theme.
Expert advisor on performance to Operations and ambassador to BCH in all external activities.
Performance reporting and analysis to Operations and stakeholders including commissioners.
Evaluation of service innovations and recommendations for improvement.
Contractual performance reporting and attendance at relevant strategic and operational strategy group meetings to review performance.
Analysis in support of contractual negotiations.
Development of key performance metrics.
Provision of performance measurement and management advice.
Performance management systems.
Performance support to operations.
Capacity planning and service modelling.
Service improvement and application of lean methodologies.
Input into a range of change programmes as required.
Organisational and service benchmarking.
Unit cost analysis.

You:
The ideal candidate will have a relevant professional qualification:
Degree level qualification or equivalent, and relevant technical knowledge. Significant experience in a similar role with similar accountabilities. Demonstrable evidence of success within a performance management role, preferably in a healthcare environment.

A range of skills commensurate with the requirements of a senior manager with experience in Performance, specifically:
Performance management and service improvement techniques.
Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
Excellent report writing skills.
Business process analysis techniques.
Works well with others and can effectively collaborate.
The ability to show empathy and consider an issue from alternative points of view.
The ability to inspire commitment and persuade others.
Professionalism and the ability to appropriately control emotions.
Ability to work effectively in partnership
Political awareness and sensitivity to stakeholders within the external environment.
The ability to provide constructive challenge.
Is aware of their own development needs and that of those they lead. Is committed to improvement.
Understanding and application of project management skills and delivery focused.
Highly numerate with strong analytical and critical reasoning skills and with the ability to think strategically and to think through complex challenges.

Ability to train others on performance management techniques.
