An opportunity has arisen for a Pensions Executive to join the team in Farnborough.

The successful candidate will assist in the provision of technical, advisory and professional support to our Trustee Boards, employers within the BAE Systems Group and HR and Employee Relations colleagues in relation to the operation of the various DB and DC BAE Systems UK pension arrangements. Helping to ensure that the schemes are managed in accordance with legislative requirements, the principles of good governance and to develop best practise in this respect.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.

As a Pensions Executive your main responsibilities will involve:

· Implementation of pension strategy, benefit and legislative change.

· Providing support to, or acting as Scheme Manager for, one or more of the BAE Systems Group pension arrangements. This may include the attendance at Trustee Board and sub committee meetings.

· Assisting in the provision of pensions technical advice to Scheme Trustees, Employers, colleagues and scheme administrators, including the preparation of technical papers for Trustee meetings and ensuring meeting actions are completed.

· Ensuring that the principles of good governance are implemented, reviewed and followed.

· Dealing with technical queries raised by Trustees, employers and others.

· Ensuring scheme legal and statutory documentation is maintained, including liaising with Company and Trustee legal advisors in drafting any amendments to Scheme Rules.

· Oversight of other scheme documents such as booklets and member communications.

· Trustee training, co-ordination, strategy and delivery at Board Meetings and on individual basis.

· Co-ordination and oversight of advice from external Trustee Advisors.

As a Pensions Executive your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

· PMI qualified or equivalent is essential.

· Extensive knowledge of pensions legislation.

· Significant experience either in house or as a consultant within an actuarial consultancy.

· Experience in supporting Trustee meetings and in pension scheme management.
