An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Pension Analyst to join our Pensions Team based in Wilmslow for on 6 month fixed term contract. The main purpose of the role is to undertake a project to calculate contingent pensions on a defined benefit scheme.

Responsibilities within the project will include:

- Developing an Excel spreadsheet to calculate benefits in line with calculation proforma and legal advice
- Accurately collect and input relevant source data from electronic and paper records
- Liaising with payroll
- Preparing correspondence to beneficiaries
- Updating the pension scheme database

Key skills and experience required for this role include:

- Strong knowledge of pension legislation particularly Guaranteed Minimum Pensions
- A good understanding of the calculation of contingent death benefits in Defined Benefit schemes
- Good understanding of pensions administration systems
- Highly numerate and good problem solving skills
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Able to extract relevant data from complex written information
- Comfortable working with automated systems
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
