PDS Engineer

Experienced PDS Engineer required by leading Aerospace company in Cheltenham.

This is an initial 3 month contract which is likely to be extended.

As PDS Engineer you will be working in a team of 5 Engineers reporting to the Engineering Lead.

The project involves bringing in a customer owned top level unit, removing modules from that unit and replacing it with a bought-in module.

The selected candidate will be required to complete the following tasks:
- Generate the DDP (Declaration of Design Performance) documents for the modified top level unit.
- Validate the authenticity of the bought-in module - comparing electronics to drawing sets, & BOMs & performing acceptance tests (ATP).
- Generate workshop modification paperwork for the top level unit modification.
- Modify existing ATP documentation for the top level unit.
- Raise drawings & BOMs for the new top-level unit.

Essential:
1) Generating & gaining approval of Avionics qualification documentation (Analogy claim level).
2) Modify Avionics/Electronics Test documents & performing & reporting tests.
3) Generating & modifying Avionics drawings & BOMs.
4) Able to quickly pick-up complex concepts and communicate these effectively.

Desirable:
1) Modifying build & repairs documentation.
2) Team player but also self-sufficient.

A good candidate will be considered for suitable contracts positions beyond the initial 3 months up to the maximum of 18 months.
