PCBA Manufacturing Engineer (Printed Circuit Board Assembly)

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SYSTEMS MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD ASSEMBLY) to join our client in Portland, OR.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Systems Manufacturing Engineer will provide reviews on mechanical components, assemblies, and systems designs including fit-checks, integration w/PCBA, stack-up analysis, and input into custom packaging design solutions.
- Determine level of integration appropriate for suppliers, factory, and customer.
- Complete Design for Assembly reviews and work with design team to resolve identified gaps.
- Provide platform configuration recommendations (boards, chassis, power supply, peripherals, etc.).
- Define label content and label BOM structure with DE/customer.
- Identify BOM items required for Pack/SN labels, hardware, packaging, and replacement materials for rework.
- Develop design/ManufacturingEngineering spec and plan, insure MAI build readiness, and provide factory training as needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- BS or MS in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or related subject matter.
- MINIMUM of five (5) plus years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineering.
- Knowledge of SMT PCBA Manufacturing processes is required.
- Proficiency with Cadence/Allegro, Valor, AutoCAD, and SPEED

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- Prior experience supporting reference designs and/or end-user consumer electronic devices.
- Prior experience with Tooling (Hard and Soft tooling), Injection Molding, Sheet metal, and Machined part component design is a plus.
- Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
