PCB Technician - Kent - 8 Weeks

A key client of mine based in Kent is looking for a PCB Technician. This will be for an initial 8 weeks project.

Role:

This role requires a versatile, motivated individual who has the necessary skills and experience to produce high-quality work in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

The candidate would be expected to carry out the following duties:

Populate PCBs in prototype quantities from assembly drawings, to a high quality level, suitable for high-vibration high-stress environments.

Rework of complex circuit boards and electronic assemblies, including replacement of SOIC, QFN with ground pad, QFP and other fine-pitch components, plus other rework techniques such as wire-linking.

Kitting ie kits for the assembly of PCBs.

Skills:

1. Proven hand soldering/PCB assembly skills (through-hole and surface mount components including fine-pitch SOIC, TSOP, QFN with ground pad, QFP and passives down to 0402).
2. Competency in reading electronic and mechanical technical drawings - eg PCB layouts, schematics and assembly drawings.
3. Ability to multi-task, adapt effectively to changing targets and objectives, and ensure tight deadlines are achieved.
4. Flexibility to work outside core working hours if required in order to achieve deadlines.
5. Good communication skills and a can-do attitude.
6. IPC-A-610 desirable.
7. Experience of using scopes, volt meters, signal generators and other test equipment desirable but not essential.
