PCB Design Engineer

With over 25 years of experience in the RF, microwave and satellite communications industry, my client develops and manufactures market-leading equipment, from DC to 40 GHz.

As a dynamic and growing organisation, a position for a PCB Design Engineer has become available on a 6 month contract basis at their Hereford office.

The PCB Design Engineer will take on an innovative and productive position in their R&D centre, supporting the Team Leader by designing and developing RF and digital PCBs. The role will include schematic capture as well as PCB layout work.

This role requires working within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design high quality, high speed, low noise analogue and RF printed circuit boards in accordance with engineering, mechanical and company requirements and processes.

The successful candidate must have:
*A minimum of three years industry experience in a similar role.
*Extensive knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout using one of the leading CAD packages, preferably Altium.
*Experience of using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
*Experience in ECAD library maintenance.
*Previous experience within an RF/Satellite Communications company.

And the desirable:
*Thorough understanding of Electronic principles.
*PCB fabrication techniques and associated PCB materials.
*Switch mode power supply (SMPS) layout considerations, and high current applications (eg up to 30A).
*PCB assembly build packs including: Bill of Materials (BOMs), Fit-lists, Pick and Place files, assembly drawings, etc.
