PC/Network Support Specialist

Our Client, a worldwide leading Gaming Company, has an exciting opportunity for experienced PC/NETWORK SUPPORT SPECIALIST responsible for performing advanced desktop support and fulfilling Helpdesk functions, including troubleshooting and resolving user requests. This is a fantastic opportunity to join their global Customer Support Team and be part of a start up project. They offer a fun, exciting and challenging environment in one of the most energising organisations in the MMO space. This is a Full time position at our offices in Galway, and as such all candidates should already be eligible to work within the EU.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide on-site customer support with focus on client satisfaction, service delivery quality and technical excellence
Providing regular maintenance and updates to all applications and desktop hardware
Ensuring assigned Service Desk tasks and tickets are kept up to date regularly and that support issues are resolved in a timely manner and within SLA
Identify and escalate priority issues to management
Responds to customer requests for assistance by phone and in person
Determine and research user questions and isolate and resolve information systems problems
Swap out failed workstations with pre-configured spares
Installs, configures and supports Workstation and network hardware and software
Diagnoses hardware, software, and operational problems and takes remedial actions or recommends procedural changes
Diagnose and resolve incidents using documented procedures to perform responsibilities
Update and maintain procedural documentation
Workaround if incident cannot be resolved
Install and configure a wide variety of peripherals such as monitors, keyboards and printers
Capture and deploy Workstation images that include operating systems and productivity applications
Respond to communications from team members within timelines established by the organizations communication standards
Accurately log and distribute all support requests. Acknowledge, troubleshoot and resolve all assigned tickets; escalate and follow through as prescribed
Recommend, schedule and perform PC hardware upgrades when required, subject to approvals
Support development and implementation of new projects and installations
Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
1-3 years of directly related helpdesk experience
1-3 years Desktop Administration
Comprehensive experience with current Dell, HP and or Apple consumer and business desktop hardware lines
Proficiency with some or all of the following technologies: Windows 7/8, OSX 10.x, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, Exchange account administration, browsers, local account management, Scripting, installations and removals, registry, command line, system management tools (sccm).
Fundamental understanding of networking principles and operation
Basic understanding of and practical entry level support experience of Backup processes, software and hardware
Ability to research and resolve escalated, complex desktop hardware or software issues
Organizational skills as demonstrated by the ability to work on several tasks at once with frequent interruptions while meeting sensitive deadlines
Immediate and confirmed communication with staff upon completion of any Service Desk requests to ensure customer satisfaction
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Must be a detail-oriented self-starter - function autonomously, with minimal supervision
Strong customer-service orientation
Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language to both technical and non-technical end-users
A responsible attitude and desire for great results
Hard working and motivated - shows initiative and takes on new tasks and responsibilities wherever a gap is identified

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Industry certifications, such as CCENT, CCNA, A+, N+ and/or MCTS/MCITP
Broad, multi-disciplinary infrastructure background.
Experience supporting Windows, Mac and or Linux systems.
Experience utilizing enterprise level system management tools and processes.
