Payroll Team Lead

PAYROLL TEAM LEADER

Birmingham

My client is looking for an experienced Payroll Team Leader to ensure that salaries and 3rd party contributions are paid correctly, on time and in accordance with the Company Policy and statutory legislation. You will also monitor the 3rd party provider on an operational level and ensure they are delivering to agreed deadlines.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Responsible for ensuring all salaries and payroll related items are paid correctly and in accordance with statutory legislation and internal control requirements
- Act as the subject matter expert in terms of payroll operations
- Gather a complete understanding of payroll performance expectations/standards
- Validate payroll-specific appropriate metrics, monitoring Service Provider activities weekly operational meetings and monthly service review meetings
- Work with the Service Provider to monitor performance improvement plans
- Participate in the governance process used for analysis and approval of change orders, as well as reprioritization of change activities
- Liaise with the Service Provider regarding all policies, programs and processes related to payroll
- Serve as the first escalation point of contact regarding any payroll administrative issues or complaints and work with the Service Provider to ensure they are resolved satisfactorily
- Monitor period and annual calendar and ensure payroll delivers in line with this and manage the submission of change requests to payroll provider whilst managing costs

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- In Depth management experience in a payroll environment
- Experience of payroll accounting SAP experience
- Experience of working with a 3rd party supplier

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

- In depth Knowledge of HR Policies and processes related to payroll and full knowledge of local statutory legislation with respect to payroll related matters, social security, state and company pension.
- Knowledge of outsourced payroll either from working in an outsourced environment or on the Service delivery side
